Hello can anybody help me?

I want to study a psychology degree in Thailand. I finished education after scholl so now have 6gcse (england) and a Celta english certificate. I dont think I will meet the basic requirements to do a degree, is there any courses (in thailand, colleges etc) which I can do that will help and make me eligable for a degree at a Uni. I have been researching for ages now and am really confused about fi I can or cant. Any info, any info in the basic requirements e.g points system, any links any anything would really be appreciated.

Thanks

There are institutes here that offer a high school GED. This will qulaify you to enter most universities here. I don't have a link but there is a place down by the King Power Duty free on Chid Lom doing it.

Not stupid at all. I don't know what an English A Level is. GED stands for General Education Development. It is a standardized US high school equivalence. I know a Swiss guy who did it here and he said it was no problem. I'll email him and ask him where he did it.

Chula/Mahidol/Thammasat/ABAC/Ramkamheng/Bangkok University will take you if you have the appropriate GCSE's for the major. If you don't have them then you can take the exams at the British Council in Siam Square for around 4k per subject.

The tuition still isn't exactly cheap, but those schools will take you if you speak English as they are desperate to have enough foreign students for the international programs.

Chula, Bangkok university, and ABAC will accept a GED as long as you take the SAT aptitude test with a satisfactory score as well as proof of high school attendance.

With either certificate it would be wise to to to the ministry of education and ask for a M.6 equivalent diploma and show them your GED/GCSE.

The GCSE is preferred to the GED.

I think the registration period for this season's testing is over now. You probably won't be able to take them until november, get your results in february and apply to university late. In other words you might be out of the cycle and won't be able to join a school for about a year.

In the proud tradition of the thread asking if one could teach if one had a cake-decorating qualification, I am closing this thread. Your question is out of the scope of this forum, which addresses teaching in Thailand and continuing (in the sense of university-level) education in Thailand.

OP, you need a high school education, not a college education, and the CELTA doesn't count a bit- and I suppose it wouldn't hurt if you were teaching out in the jungle here, but please stay away from subject teaching and the cities. Do a google online for GED and Thailand if you're looking for agencies to help you with the test.

Thread closed.
