jumnien
I've always just gone up to the US Embassy in BKK. Sorry, no help.
PeaceBlondie
Could you be a bit more specific as to the kind of documents, or if only your signature is to be verified?
BEENTHEREDONETHAT
Peace Blondie, It is just the signature that I need notarized. The papers are being sent from the US and are in regards to an inheiritance. I need them notarized in english and then will send them back to the US. cheshiremusicman
Does anyone know of a place to have papers notorized in english in the HH area? There is a 'Notary' who also offers 'translations' in the top floor of the 'old shopping Mall' in HH, think that they will be able to help you. woodyleonhard
BeenThere - If you need something "officially" notarized - which is to say, have your signature notarized by a US Notary Public - you have no choice but to go to the Embassy. There are no other US notaries in Thailand, as far as I know. The American Citizen Services Unit at the Embassy will notarize just about anything. They charge US $ 30. Details here: http://bangkok.usembassy.gov/service/notarial-services.html .
Maestro
See also this topic about notarisation of documents or signatures. Mention is made of the Lawyers Council of Thailand, whose members are authorised to notarise documents and signatures. You would have to find out if there is a member of the Council in Hua Hin but unfortunately their website seems to be only in Thai language. -- Maestro
BEENTHEREDONETHAT
Thanks for the response. Looks like a trip to BKK and a long wait in line at the US embassy. Does anyone know the best time of day to go for the shortest line?
lopburi3
Nine or after probably - after the visa applicants have all passed security. They seem to have only the one entrance now so you have to wait for everyone to deposit there handbags/phones/bazookas before you are allowed to enter. Once into the ACS room they have queue ticket system now.
