Free-standing Kicking Bag

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a punching & kicking bag: the free-standing kind with a weighted base. I know they're not as heavy duty as the traditional hanging bags but I don't have a place to hang one & I like the portability of the free-standing ones. Has anybody seen these available in Thailand? I'm living in Chiang Mai but I'll be in Bangkok next month. Thanks.

Yes!

In Bangkok you can buy these kinds of bags in the FBT-Center 7.Floor on Ramkhamhaeng soi 65.

They have around 7 different styles (normal free standing boxing bag and free standing humanformed boxing bags) of these bags.

Prices: 10K to 32k.

Thanks maxfactor, that's exactly what I was looking for. But the prices - yikes! They're at least 3 times what I paid in the states. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. I think I might try the Thailand alternative: get someone to build it for me here in Chiang Mai.

1) bring a bag from Bangkok (Windy, Twins, Raja) try the shops at the Muay Thai stadiums

2) go to a local Muay Thai gym and ask them to contact someone who can make you a stand for it, they do it like this and can deliver it to your house in a pick-up truck:

A stand like that in Phuket wasn't more than 3000 Baht not sure of the price for the bag, depends on the size, too.

3) go to a tailor shop and ask them to keep a lot of cut-offs for you without needles and then stuff the bag with them
