Koh Libong

Featured Replies

My darling mama is coming out for two weeks in March. She will spend a week with me in Phangan and then we will head west. Planning on spending a night in Trang and then a couple of nights on Koh Libong. Then go on for a couple more nights to Lanta.

Is Libong nice? It sounded pretty chilled and I liked the sound of Libong Resort to stay in. What are people's thoughts? Is there a better island round that way? Also how easy is it to get from Libong to Lanta? I read somewhere there was a boat....

Thanks

White sandy beaches, boat to and from, that is nice... Stay in a small wodden bungalow on the beach while the waves are breaking 15 meters from you,,, Roomservice by nice friendly people serving good food at the little table outside the place you stay....

sorry I woke up now,,, that was a different Island... I have no clue about that island but good luck and please tell us more after you get back...

Have fun...

Yes, been there many times... avoid Libong Nature Resort, it's a rip off and it has nothing at all to do with conservation.

The villagers on the southern side of the island are doing a very good job of protecting the herd of dugong that visit the grass beds in their bay. The dugongs come in on flood tide and they're fairly easy to see as they can't hold their breath for more than about 5 minutes. the villagers can offer a boat trip out to see them. Go out in a longtail, cut the engine off and wait... they'll be there.

Good luck!
