Scanning Books With A Digital Camera

I'll throw another idea for this thread. I've scanned about 20 of my books before I came to Thailand to free up luggage space.

I used my 6 megapixel compact digi cam, put the book on the floor, the camera in one hand, and turned the pages with the other hand using my toe to hold the corner. I was going as fast as I could turn the pages, and this took me about 5 minutes. I'm sure they are perfectly OCR'able, the lettering is sharp.

The camera has got a text mode for this sort of thing, too.
