Toys On The Mainland

Featured Replies

Is there anywhere to buy larger toys in the Suratthani/Nakhon area? We want to pick up some birthday toys, but can't think of anywhere else in Suratthani apart from Saha Thai, Big C and Lotus. Any ideas anyone?

ETA: please move to the Nakhon/Surat forums!!

... and just why would anyone want to go to that dump of a town?

Anyway, answering the OP - you've pretty much named most places. You could also try Robinson's but the choice of toys in Thailand as a whole, is fairly limited.

Carrefour and Tescos should have a decent selection, why not chinese stuff? Its not that bad and do not forget that they do manufacture most toys in china now..

Hmmm... Big C, Tesco, Saha Thai and Robinsons in NST and SUrat... But if you go further down to Hadyai..i bet they have better quality toys there. Not that far either.

Check in Lucky department store or in sahathai department store near the train station in Nakhon, they have cheap Chinese crap that last 2 days before your child either breaks it or eats it !! I would spend a little more and order from mothercare in Bangkok or order from the early learning centre website, they deliver!! good luck..

Thanks for all the replies. I don't want to get her any Chinese crap as you're right, it breaks, it's not safe and who knows what's in the plastic.

I had thought of going down to Hadyai, but from Samui it's a bit of a journey, and I didn't want to end up facing the same toys as we could have got in Surat. It's really hard to get hold of anything decent in the South. Toys 'r' us (Bangkok) don't deliver and I don't really have time to get up to Bangkok. I will check out the ELC website - they deliver to Thailand too eh? Thought there might be more choice in Nakhon than Surat, but maybe not. Last time I checked the Mothercare Thailand site, it was just selling things like carseats, but I'll have another look. Things change a lot in a couple of years.

Cheers,

If you think of any else let me know :o
