A friend's GF is due for her "Embassy Interview" at the US Embassy the first part of Dec.. He is wondering how long after the Interview he can expect her Visa, so that he can book flights... Everything in the US has been approved, just pending the Interview...

Can anyone offer advise or info...

don't know about the US embassy... but within a week for the brits...

If all the paperwork is done , and I mean all the paperwork . It took us less than a week .

My gf got her US tourist visa the day after her interview. If your friend's gf's application is accepted she'll also get the visa the next day. For a Fiancee Visa I have no idea what the wait is.

A friend's fiancée had to wait an extra two weeks because there was a slight discrepancy in her name in her paperwork. I was told this was so the FBI/CIA could check out the alternate spelling of her name. According to Fiancée & Marriage Visas: A Couple's Guide to U.S. Immigration, it is not unusual to have this extra two weeks after the interview.
