Hello,

I am planning a trip to the UK within the next 2 - 3 months with my thai G/F and my daughter who is now 1 years old, me and the mother are not married and she has not really worked since the child was born last year, I'm just wondering if anybody has had any similar experience in this area and will be able to tell me wether I will have difficulty obtaining a visa for my daughters mother, it is no problem for my daughter as she has both thai and UK passports. I am also unsure after looking at the consulate website which type of visa I need to apply for for my g/f. I have obtained the following documents to support her application. Chanote from Khon Kaen stating that she is the owner of 6 rai of land, and I can provide the bank statements showing that she has money in the bank, also the documents showing that she is the mother of a british citizen, i.e. birth certificate ect. Do you think this will be enough? if not, what else could be provided to support her application,

Thanks,

How long is your trip going to be? Are you just going for a visit of under 6 months length, or are you moving back more long term? If it's a short visit of under 6 months you will need to fill out form VAF1 - Visitor. If you are planning on staying you will need to fill out VAF4 - Settlement.

If you'll be visiting the UK, then it's a visit visa which your partner will have to seek. There's lots of information on here about visit visas, so do a quick search and see what you come up with. Essentially, though, your partner would have to show that the trip can be paid for, that she has somewhere to stay and that she intends to leave the UK at the end of the holiday. If you will be returning to Thailand with her, then evidence that you must do so will also help.

Scouse.
