On average does it take the quoted "it can take up to 12 weeks to process your application" or is it possible to get this turnarounded faster depending on circumstances etc.

Depends on your application and your details. Took me 3 days to get SV visa. Hope this helps

We put our application in on a Thursday at lunchtime. My fiance had a phone interview on the Monday. The passport and visa were back at the visa centre on the Wednesday.

Put visa form and paperwork in the morning was told processing time twelve weeks, asked for money back, had Settlement visa in the afternoon, that was back in 2001, wonderful what they can do if they have to.

I think there seem to be from what I have read a quick turn around if you can supply your partner with all the relevant information, as far as I can tell the problems as I think you would expect are when incorrect or insufficient evidence is provided.

I am planning to submit all my paper work in the next six week so ill keep every one updated on how things are going for me !

Handed in on Monday, VAC had it completed for collection by Wednesday morning, but had to schlep up from the South so didn't get it til the Friday....I figure that means the Embassy can be done with it in as little as two days.

Hi

My g/f got her SV within a few weeks from applying, including an additional one for her daughter. I think it all depends on the quality of evidence you give them. We hadn't applied for any type of visa before and they didn't even call her for an interview or anything in the end! But I made sure everything they needed was in the application, like landlords letter, confirmation of a marriage booking over here, photos of us together over a space of time, including one of me putting a ring on her finger. I even had receipts from hotels and flights with our names on. As long as you are honest and give them as much info as possible then you should be fine.

I got called up to visit my immigration office here for a few questions which was OK, to make sure I was able to provide for them both etc. I think they were checking on the fathers background too.

Good luck

John
