Tourist Visa To China - For American (multiple Months)

Featured Replies

When I had checked months/years ago (vientiane-phnom penh) it appeared Americans were only allowed one month Tourist visas to China -may(not) be extended.

Can anyone tell me with any certainty if I can get a multi month visa (at least 60) in BKK or CNX?

Going to HKG will end up costing huge amount of money to fly there and then back into Sichuan/Yunnan.

Thanks

The standard is 30 days, but it does say that you can request longer and the visa officer can allow a longer stay. Probably best to talk with the embassy and see if they would be willing to give you a longer one.

You could also go for a double entry visa and then you would just need to do a border run to Vietnam, Laos, or Burma.

thats what ive heard and why worried. one month for us130. its really hard to like these people. a double would be 260 for 2 mos. doubtful. yeah, ill have to call. tried to call cons in cnx but no answer.

Too bad you are not in HK where a multiple entry 6 months business visa will set you back HK$1500 (that's for Aussies I think US citizens are charged much more than this) If you get a one month tourist visa it is easy to go to the PSB (Public Security Bureau) in any Chinese city and have it extended for another month but I'm sure you can talk to the Chinese embassy and they may be able to get you a double entry visa.
