Dentists

Featured Replies

did a search and didn't find anything on dentists.....can anyone recomend agood dentist, went to Dr asavant in thong lor last yaer but wasn't entirely happy with the place. thought I would try somewhere different this year, when I get the x-rays I would like to keep them in case I have to get something done and wany a second opinion, do you think it would be strange to ask to keep your x-rays? (figure it a waste of money to get them done again if seeking a second opinion)

cheers

i have seen several recommended including the dental unit at Bumrungrad, which i didn't like so much, but the place we used was this one Suk 49 Dental Hospital and I can heartily recommend it - a fabulous place, madame palmer actually looked forward to going to the dentist. then again, we did have medical insurance which covered it, though i get the impression that their prices, though very high for thailand, are VERY competitive v the uk and us...

if you make it to pattaya :o and still need a dentist try this one........................ Smile Dental Clinic - 24/47 South Pattaya Rd. Pattaya CityTel:038-427830....... made a fine job of cleaning mine!!

Dentists are great value in Thailand when compared to the west. But, then again,i imagine the standard varies. My crown recently fell out after 15 years (old footie war wound) and didn't want to go around with a dodgy smile. A plate cost me the whopping total of 500 baht :o . A quote for a new crown was about 8,000 baht . In farang land u would pay 500% more!!

Oh well , from what i understand it is quite normal for dentists to want to keep x-rays , mostly as a reference to what happened to which tooth etc in a file to make thier job easier.

Prasarnmit Dental Clinic, Suk 23, my crown was 6500!!!
