Bangkok Airways Does It Again & Again....

Recommended Posts

every airline company has bad days when everything goes wrong.. some times its a technical problem sometimes its the weather etc...

please lets not loose proportions here.. the whole thread started out with a disapointment from the food served. is this the only indication of an airline quality??

it seems that some people have expectations that an airline company must be a delux resort in the sky :o with a private escort service on the ground....

Airline companies are transportation companies. they are not a royal dining facility nor are they a flying wine cellar. and those arilines who offer that service usualy brand it as business or first class and charge accordingly.

for the rates that BKK charge around 150 usd per flight they are giving a great service.:

I have been flying in the pas years on many airlines and i can sfaely say that BKK airways is one of the best companies in the world.

I can understand the frustration of those who had a personal problem but this is no indication of the over all quality.

It seems some of our members have been flying BKK for so long have forgoten what its like to fly other companies. or what its like to land in some sh@@ty airport.

even with delays and other issues BKK airways provide an execelent service and hopefully with more new airlines coming in it will become easier to compare the level of service.

I agree 100% with your comments.

I think that PG has been discussed many time before and it usually stems from:

a disgruntled passenger unhappy for many different reasons, or those low budget passengers who think that because PG took a risk, funded, built, and developed their own airport that they should then throw the gates open to the Cattle class operators to enable them to fly for peanuts.

I like PG, they are streets ahead of any European operator. You may not like the food (I think it's OK) but at least you don't have to pay for everything, including water.

An airline will never be perfect, there are too many variables, but during the time I have lived here I have had many visitors

and all of them have been very happy with their short flights on PG.When there have been problems (lost baggage etc.) it has been resolved quickly and courteously.

Anyway for those who have a problem with PG there are alternatives.

As an aside, shouldn't the new Residents Cards be issued soon?

This "It's a private company and a private airport" stuff is all fine and dandy. However, can you imagine a private airport -- the ONLY airport -- in Hawaii? How about Hainan Island in China? I can't understand how this can be allowed.

It seems to me that a nation's territory ought to be open to all carriers who can qualify to fly there.

Can you imagine the number of airlines that would operate in the Philippines if this system were allowed there?

Sure, everyone can try to build a new airport-its not forbidden i think.

It´s only not possible-go and try to get the "piece" of land that you need for it.....

And....not to forget, you cannot build where you want, the only possible area is near taling nam.

good Luck :o

Well then Mark, opportunity knocks! Someone has to start somewhere!

For me, I do not see the need for another large(ish) airport, however I would like to see a small airstrip around 3000 ft long

unpaved, on the Southern part of the island using rugged 12-14 seat Caravan type aircraft on a regular shuttle to Surat and perhaps Chumphon and Ranong. It would be a 20 minute flight and the cost would be around 2000 Baht per person.

Another pipe dream! :o:D

I was flying with Bangkok air in the past 4 month about 25 times & I just can say, NEVER AGAIN !!!

I will avoid to fly with Bangkok Airways in Future.

They are almost with 80 % of their Flights delate, between 1 to 5 hour (my own experience & others as well).

I dont understand, how they can be "ASIA'S BOUTIQUE AIRLINE" ?????

In one Flight, where the parts of food still on the Seat, in another Flight where the COCKROACHES running around.

Am not counting the Rude Flight-Customers...

my flight today was the worst of all flights before, the meal was so bad, i think, they really dont give good meal anymore.

in the mealbox, a bad smelling cheese pie, small piece of Fruit, which was really not fresh anymore, and the Question:

"you want Coffea OR Juice"... :D

Before, i get both, now i must ask for... :D

I made a Picture of the INFLIGHT MEAL OF >ASIA'S BOUTIQUE AIRLINE<

such a shame...

and they have the most expensive flights in the Country, specially to Samui.

I am not willed, to let rip me off from Bangkok Airways anymore.

Now is Thai Airways flying to Samui, just fly with a real good Airline !

Nice Flight...;-)

P.S. sorry for my english, its not my first & even not second Language...

Bangkok Airways is a fully cool airline, they do a good job, just tooooooo expensive (BBK-Samui). Who cares about the food (and this one was indeed much better some years ago). I remember one time they served a nice spaghetti on that short (now) 50 minute flight. A drink would be enough, just make that price more fair, please! I flew since they started to Samui (to go to Phangan)!

ham :o

....and please stop flying OVER Koh Phangan. There is enough space around the island, on both side to avoid aircraft noise over a quiet island paradies. No reason to fly over every hour. They diden't done it before so much, they used to use the costline, quit with a distance.

Wait 'til you get your own Airport on K.P.!!

I think the reason that you are getting some noise is when aircraft, particularly the jets are landing to the South, they need to be stabilised on the Runway 17 approach path which clips part of K.P. (I bet you have also seen an increase in approach noise with the arrival of the 737-400s!).

It wan't be so easy as in samui I guessing, maybe also just more a hope :o but also a lot of anti-airport power here on the island. True to, there are some they want more tourists here, much more!

- You are right with the "737's on the sky" remark :D maybe need to move/rotat samui a bit, to adjust the runeway? :D:D

I flew to BKK on wednesday and back last night (friday) and both times the food was served on a plastic tray with white plastic containers. What I want to know is which airline uses the cardboard tray that is featured in the picture at the start of this thread. By the way the food last night was really good, cold meats and salad,a fresh roll and fresh fruit. All the flights were delayed yesterday though but I was told that Samui had some bad weather yesterday. Any comments on that picture then? :o

If a western couple has to spend 3.000 US$ to fly Europe-BKK-Europe they not care too much about 2 x 100 US$ less or more for BKK-Samui-BKK compared to BKK-Phuket-BKK.

BKK Air is expensive for residents and for Thais who want to make holiday here, not for Westerns.

Samui has less tourists because they island is not as beautiful as before and because Phuket is just more comfortable, has a better infrastructure and is less polluted.

BTW as I stay in Nathon I travel with Air Asia from Surath. I am bored to go to Bangrak because of the traffic and the crazy taxi fares.

I was served food in such a paper tray about three weeks ago and there was nothing wrong with the food, typical airplane grub.

Could it be that the paper and plastic trays show up at different airplane types, paper at the props and plastic at the jets?

For interest limbos was that on Bangkok Air Samui flight then?

I have flown many times on both types of plane and only ever known them to use plastic, not cardboard.

Of course this doesnt mean that they havent started doing so now, which is what I am trying to establish.

Has anyone else come across this?

I cant believe that people take pics of every meal they have on an aircraft, but anyway it is very interesting, although the flight we are talking about is Bangkok to Samui and the latest meal shown is four years ago, so it does'nt prove much does it. :o

Seriously, who cares what the food is like on a one/two hour flight? If you were really that jacked off about this, you'd complain to Bangkok Airways head office and then tell us the result. Better yet, start an online petition to abolish the meal and reduce the fares.

""" last i was in samui there were broken beer bottles on the floor in the lounge, and they were still there when i boarded my flight an hour later """"

thats really shocking, If I were you, I would never!!!!! use this service again.

(I suppose, you missed the red carpet for you also?) :o

so you honestly think shattered glass in the middle of the airport waiting area is acceptable? i suppose i should be thankful it wasn't in the childrens play area.

btw: i did take them again from bkk to samui thursday 6 am. I got up at 4:30 am, was at the airport by 5:15 and was told by the nice girl at check-in that my flight was delayed until 7:30. Another seatran missed.
