Do you have a waste water tank or a place where your waste water goes to then seep slowly into the ground? Most houses do. If so and if it is full, that may be the problem and the drains may be ok. This could be true if all your drains go into it and all your drains are not working well. Toilets usually are plumbed into a separate waste water tank.

There are some good bacteria products available that clean drains and help the waste water tanks to do their jobs.

You might try looking in the DIY subforum of Housing forum. A few posts on drains & septic tanks worth looking at. Remember, don't put bleach down your loos, it'll kill the bacteria that digest the waste products, leading to septic tank filling up quickly.

and any "Draino" caustic chemicals to clean out drains that lead to your septic tanks either.

A lot of houses I have seen, have problems with drains (as in toilet flushing) because there is no ventilation in the drain pipe above the water level, which it needs to flush. This can normally be cured by putting in a ventilation pipe; need to bear in mind where the water level is.
