Twenty-three months after your wife first entered the UK on her settlement visa, she can apply for indefinite leave to remain in the UK. However, if she first arrived more than one month after the visa start date, she will have to apply for further leave to remain instead.

If your wife is able to apply for indefinite leave, she will need to demonstrate that your relationship has been ongoing for the time she has already been here, and that you can take care of yourselves without claiming benefits. She will additionally have to have passed either an ESOL with Citizenship course or the Life in the UK test.
