trevor11 Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Please could someone out there assist me urgently with my query? I am about to submitt my application for a UK settlement Visa from South Africa. My wife is the British National. 1. Do I really need a unabridged birth certificate for myself and my wife or does the south african green identification document suitabel? 2. I have a job offer of 2750 pounds per month - does my wife need a job offer? 3. Will 20000 rands be sufficent as proof of sustainability? 4. Must the 20000 rands reflect in my bank account or in travellers checks? 5. Do we really require police clearance certificates on application of visa? Please if anyone can assist me i would be grateful. Trevor11
the scouser Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 1. Do I really need a unabridged birth certificate for myself and my wife or does the south african green identification document suitabel? No, your passport is ample demonstration of your nationality and identity. 2. I have a job offer of 2750 pounds per month - does my wife need a job offer? You have to show that you can support yourselves from your own resources. That can be either from your wife's employment, your employment, or both. 3. Will 20000 rands be sufficent as proof of sustainability? If you'll be working in the UK from shortly after your arrival, then you can simply rely upon your wage as evidence of maintenance. 4. Must the 20000 rands reflect in my bank account or in travellers checks? It doesn't matter where you have the money as long as you can demonstrate it's available to you. 5. Do we really require police clearance certificates on application of visa? No. Scouse.
