Our office feeds 2-3 soi dogs everyday but last week a new dog appeared......very emaciated, obviously had pups recently. The other dogs don't seem to let her get to the food, she is extremely timid so I have started to try to feed her away from the others with some success. Apart from being extremely thin she has no obvious skin diseases, although I can't get that close to properly check. Would welcome advice on best way to feed her a nourishing diet so she will gain weight. Hopefully I can gain her trust over time and get her to a vet. Unfortunately no sign of the pups.

1) Deworming

2) Vitamin supplements as multivitamin or Vit B complex

3) Try to separate her from other dogs when you feed and use canned dog food

Unfortunately no sign of the pups.

They will be around, but probably well hidden. As Bambi says, she needs nutritional food and not just bulk, a fat dog does not mean a healthy dog, quite the contrary, in the same way it applies to people.

Keep her away from the other dogs and feed her canned dog food, that will benefit her and she will pass that on to her offsprings.

Thanks for the advice, already giving canned food for the last two days. Will get some multivits to add.......is it ok to put worming tablets in with the food, if so, just one dose or repeat?

its ok for take the deworming drng with food.

You may start removing "round worm" by using pyrantel

then next two week for removing tape worm by using praziquantel

you may repeat it again in next 2-4 weeks

Anyway, animals need to be dewormed at least 3-4 times a years
