Who Does Good Carb Work?

Recommended Posts

So I'm wondering where you guys go to get your carbs done? Does anyone know if Fast Corner installs what they sell? My carbs need cleaning and tuning but although I've tried to do it myself in the past, I know I suck at proper jetting and timing.

Fast corner sells K & N filters and I know that once they are installed you usually have to re-jet, so I figure that if they do the work, now is the time to get a cleaning done too.

Has anyone used them? Does anyone know anywhere else that is good?

Basic oil, airfilter change and check up they usually do while you wait (in couple of hours). But it all depends how busy they are.

Last time my bike was standing 6 months while i was out of town so battery gone and carbs needed cleaning. Wouldn't start when i was back... RB organized pick up from my place in Rama IV, cleaned the carbs, took the bike to DLT for annual check and get stamp for the green book, mandatory taxes and insurance paid etc. Took 3 or 4 days to get the bike back and the book came week later. Cost me couple of thousand baht + thousand two for the pick up service (pick up not provided by RB but one their trusted mates so i paid directly to the guy).

Left my bike there over night or for couple of days few times and so far no probs with dent's or anything. They do test drive the bikes sometimes after work is done to see they run ok but only once i noticed that there was some 20 miles additional. Figured that the mechanic took it out for lunch same time as doing check up ride...

You never know but has been working for me and also couple of my mates been using RB for more than 10 years without any problems.

But check it out, and talk with K. Vikrom (owner), he speaks good english and can tell you more what they are able to do in their shop. You need to tell him anyways what you want to be done. Trying to explain to the other guys you propably end up with oil change and chain lube job instead of getting your carbs sorted out :o

I would assume it is also possible to book day and time in advance by phone and hang out and "supervise" the job yourself. At least then you can be sure they get it right in first go.
