Hello,

Just wondered if anyone can help . . I have just qualified as a Primary School Teacher with an BA (Hons) Primary Education degree. I am seriously considering becoming a full time teacher in Thailand.

Am I likely to be employed in Thailand with my qualifications and what would be my expected salary? I admit I have not done much research to date and have made this forum my first attempt in gathering information.

Your help, information and advice would be much appreciated!!

Thanks,

M.

That is a notably good qualification. I understand that the better international schools in Thailand (which basically means ten to twenty top schools in Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, and maybe Pattaya or Khon Kaen), prefer to hire from abroad, amongst teachers who not only have their B.Ed (or a BA in education, or a PGCE) but who also are fully certified to teach in their native country. I understand they also want you to have a year or more of full time experience as a teacher.

But you never know.
