Diving Pattaya

Featured Replies

Hey guys,

Have a client who wants to go diving in Pattaya.

Just wondering what your thoughts are?

Anything interesting?

How does it compare with other parts of Thailand?

He normally goes to Boracay. Any thoughts from anyone having dived both?

Thanks in advance for your help.

i would like to advise to spend a bit mor time and to go to koh lanta or koh sichang

FJ, forgive my ignorance on the subject. I'm usually with a Thai business partner, who takes care of everything.

Koh Lanta or Sichang- are one of these the islands right off the coast, ie- coral beach?

Have you dived here, and how was it?

*If anyone works in a dive shop in/around Pattaya, please pass me the details, and I will pass to my client.

all the corals etc are a bit murkey round pattaya, visibility is not to good. There is a V.Good wreck dive tho :o

I assume you mean sea diving, not balcony diving, which is also becoming a popular hobby?

Astral - he could have meant muff diving :o

But really, So-Cal, SCUBA diving around Patty is not so hot. It's OK for beginners to learn and there are a few wrecks. Couple are interesting, if you are into that. I prefer reef diving and that is just not on. Much better from Phuket / Ko Phi Phi.

If your client is an experienced open sea diver, then he should know the better sites. It may very well be that he is either a novice or has other interests as well.

There are several Dive Centres advertising in Pattaya Mail or on the PattayaCity web site. Would suggest a Google 'Pattaya' 'Dive Centres' would bring up results.
