Looking For Women's Kickboxing In Bangkok

Featured Replies

looking for a decently priced place to take women's kickboxing class in bangkok. not looking for one on one fighting, but rather a workout. anybody know of any place??

my girlfriend used to do some training sometmies at Jitti Gym in Ratchada area, right near the BTS.

English speaking trainers, some women training there; as serious or as fun as you want.

It will rock over any aerobic course claiming to be kickboxing, but it is also a fair bit more tiring as well....especially in the heat at the moment.

would also recommend Jitti's over Rompo to be honest, Jitti has a lot of experience with female fighters in the past and speaks o.k English

i was looking for something cheaper than 2000 baht a month. im not really looking to fight anyone, meaning, im not looking to get a punch in the face or a kick in the stomach from anyone, i just want to get into shape. if i take lessons, should i expect to get beaten up?

Jitti is 200b per time I think.

If you are training 8 times a month I would be quite impressed; it may take you 3-4 days to recover from a full training session ;-)

No hitting or punching early on, learning muay thai is like this

- all sessions: skipping or running warm up, stretching

- all sessions: warm down, stretching

beginning

- learn how to stand

- learn basic footwork

- throw basic punches, kicks, knees, elbows into pads, into bag

- sit ups

more intermediate

- start to throw combinations, trainer starts moving around more

- trainer may start using pads and teaching defense, gentle taps with the pads on body, legs, etc to practise blocks and defense

- more sit ups

intermediate

- sparring; basic knees techniques, you do I do type combos to practise defense and attack

- more sit ups

more advanced

- sparring using everything you learned to now pound the crap out of other people...no seriously, just gently working on using the defense and attack moves against someone else but all at very low power, but very scary at all

- more sit ups

it is all pretty mild, I think your perception is going to be pretty pleasant; you can always go and just watch, but bear in mind the more advanced stuff is for advanced people, beginners learn hte basics first; anyhow even after a few times, you wil be surprised how powerful you can be and how to control your body and stuff.

I think the afternoon session starts about 3pm -6pm, get there around 3pm to kick off.
