Athlon 64 Bit Cpu & Mb

Featured Replies

I want to upgrade my computer and it makes the most sense to go with

the new Athlon XP3200 and the Gigabyte GA K8VT800.

Can someone who visits Pantip Plaza regularly give me a heads up when these items appear there.

Then I can place and order through Tuk Com in Sri Racha.

At the moment all I can get is prices, but no idea of when they will be available.

Thanks.

Atec is already selling 64 bit based systems in Thailand and not to expensive as well :o

No idea though where you can buy the seperate parts! The fastest you see in the most shops is the 2800 :D

You can go with a sempron 64 if you are on a budjet. But I've seen lots of Athlon 64 stuff at pantip...

get a sempron, but there are no 64 bit windows operating system available and longhorn really is a long way away.

yeah, 64 bit Linux is available for about a year already, SuSE just announced the 3rd release of their version in SuSE 9.2, and it runs really really fast :o

Yeah, the Windows/Linux thing....

I upgraded to a an AMD64, 3 gHz. I used the old hard drive with a dual boot Windows XP Pro and Libranet Linux 2.8.1. system. Linux booted and ran great, even though it was compiled for an Athlon. Windows would not boot, and had to be reinstalled.
