Hi, does anybody know if you can shortcut the 12 week interview timescale for settlement visa interviews? i.e. ask for cancellations.

Reason - i am flying to Thailand to get married and would like to sort visa out within my 1 month stay.

You can ask but there's no guarantee. It just depends whether there are any cancellations around the time you go and whether they've been offerred to someone else.

The sponser is not present for the interview.

You can prepare all the paper work before hand, go through everything with your then wife and then leave her to do it.

Or you can apply 12 weeks before hand and then it will be on time - ie change your trip to January.
