Meeting Isaan People

Please, please take this as a genuine request. I would like to introduce my long lost brother to Isaan and the hospitality of the Isaan people. I did live in Burirum about 15 years ago but, since then, I have moved elsewhere in Thailand.

Because of my move, I have lost touch with the Isaan and the people of Isaan and the endless opportunities that allowed me to mix with them and enjoy their company. I truly want my brother to have the same experience.

My plan is to take him to Burirum to visit Khao Phanom Rung and then move on to Sisaket to visit Khao Phra Viharn. We will be in the Burirum, Surim, Sisaket, Ubon Ratchathiani, Kantaralak areas around 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th May and I would really appreciate any information on where we can “mix it” with the local people around about that time e.g. bars, likay shows, morlam concerts, even a wedding …..we will contribute whatever is needed to the “party”.
