Man Arrested After Buying Stolen Motorbike for 1500 Baht, Caught Within a Month
Picture of arrest. A 40-year-old man who purchased a stolen motorbike for just 1,500 baht was arrested less than a month after acquiring it, following a police investigation. At 08:00 on 24 February, Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Nopasin Poolsawat, Deputy Commissioner overseeing investigations, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Jetsada Suaysom, Chief of Metropolitan Police Division 2, ordered the arrest of Mr. Kraison at a rented room in Soi Lat Phrao 48, Sam Sen Nok, Huai Khwang district, Bangkok. He was charged with "theft or receiving stolen property," and a black and red Honda Wave 110i motorbike was seized as evidence. The arrest followed a report from the victim on 3 February at around 07:00. The complainant informed police that their motorbike had been stolen from outside a rental room in Soi Ram Inthra 8, Lane 24, Chorakhe Bua, Lat Phrao district. Investigators later received intelligence from an informant that a suspect was seen riding a motorbike matching the stolen vehicle's description. The bike was spotted parked outside a rental property in Soi Lat Phrao 48, prompting officers to investigate. Upon arrival, officers found Mr. Kraison standing next to the motorbike. They identified themselves as police officers and checked the vehicle, confirming it was the one reported stolen. During questioning, Mr. Kraison admitted that he had purchased the motorbike earlier in February from a man named "Jae," a 35-year-old of stocky build and dark complexion. He claimed he bought the vehicle for 1,500 baht and had been using it since. The motorbike was seized as evidence, and Mr. Kraison was formally charged. He was taken, along with the stolen vehicle, to Khok Kram Police Station for further legal proceedings. Police continue to investigate the case, including tracing the individual who originally sold the motorbike to determine what further criminal activity is involved. -- 2025-02-25 -

A police patrol vehicle crashed into a pickup truck near Chulaphon Police Station in Nakhon Si Thammarat after a suspect resisted arrest while being transported to the station. The incident resulted in four injuries, including police officers and local residents. Authorities from Chulaphon Police Station were alerted to the crash on Ban Plaina – Khuan Baek Road in Village 4, Sam Tambon Subdistrict, near the entrance to the station. Emergency responders arrived at the scene to find a damaged police patrol vehicle and a pickup. The injured were immediately transported to Chulaphon Hospital for treatment. Initial investigations revealed that prior to the collision, the Chulaphon Police 191 Radio Centre had received a report from residents about an unidentified man, aged 35-40, attempting to trespass into a house near a local school. A team of four officers, led by Police Sergeant Major Chawath Sookyang, along with Police Corporal Teerawat Onphakdee and two other officers, responded to the call in a marked patrol vehicle. The officers successfully detained the suspect and were en route to the police station when he suddenly became violent inside the vehicle. As officers attempted to subdue him, the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off course and collide with the pickup. Suspicious Fire: Woman Claims 10 million in Cash Burned, Police Discover 6.5 million in Car
Picture from responders. Police in Nonthaburi have seized 6.5 million baht in cash hidden in a vehicle, following a woman’s report that a fire at her home destroyed 10 million baht in cash. The case has raised multiple suspicions regarding the origin of the money and possible financial crimes. At 17:00 on 23 February, Ms. Nittaya, 27, from Samut Prakan province, reported to Rattanathibet Police Station that a fire had broken out at her residence in Tha Sai, Mueang District. The house, a two-storey government residence for irrigation department staff, was quickly extinguished by neighbours and municipal firefighters. After the fire was put out, Ms. Nittaya claimed that 10 million baht in cash, which she had kept under her bed, had been completely destroyed. However, when police examined the burnt room, they found no remains of burned banknotes, leading to suspicions about the claim. During questioning, Ms. Nittaya admitted to having additional cash stored in her brown Mitsubishi Pajero, parked near the house. Upon inspection, officers discovered: • 5.5 million baht in 1,000-baht banknotes inside a black fabric bag • 1 million baht in 1,000-baht notes inside a brown envelope Police immediately seized the cash to investigate its origin. Further questioning revealed that Ms. Nittaya had been handling large sums of money through multiple bank accounts. She claimed the money belonged to a woman known only as “Dear,” who had asked to use accounts belonging to Ms. Nittaya and her family, including her husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law, and sister-in-law. Over time, 20.5 million baht was deposited across ten accounts, with daily withdrawals of 3 million baht, spread across six different accounts at various shopping malls. Ms. Nittaya was reportedly paid 10,000 baht per transaction for withdrawing and delivering the cash. She later admitted that another woman, known only as “First,” was involved in transferring the funds. Police are now investigating whether the money is linked to illegal activities. Authorities also discovered that Ms. Nittaya had lost 6 million baht through online gambling, further raising concerns about the legality of the funds. Rattanathibet Police Chief Pol. Col. Phisut Jantrasuwan confirmed that investigators are now examining all bank accounts and financial transactions involved. The police are also working with forensic experts to determine whether the house fire was accidental or deliberately set to cover up financial crimes. “At this stage, we cannot confirm the source of the money or whether it is linked to any illegal business. A full investigation is underway to verify its legitimacy,” Col. Phisut stated. Authorities have seized the cash and are conducting forensic tests at the fire scene while tracing all financial transactions linked to the case. -- 2025-02-25
