The purpose is to get you somewhere without petrol, pollution, noise. You're right...dumb idea...

Err, but, what about the electricity needed to charge them? Doesn't that come from a power station that probably produces a teensy weensy bit of pollution? :o

Some power stations pollute, some don't.

Driving around with your own personal, internal combustion engine, is primitive technology. Agreed?
