For my sins I have been banished to Phichit for three days next week for a business venture.

Anyone know what the hotel and nightlife situation is like there ??

It is a small up country town like any other, one main drag and many little side streets with all of the typical places, although I don't think you will bump into too many farangs. I don't know about any hotels there. What are you using for transport? Are you flying in to P'lok, taking the train or driving?

If you want to stay in a bigger town with better hotels and more nightlife, then you may want to consider staying in Phitsanulok. The drive to Phichit is about 45 minutes each way.

Sounds workable. Any hotel / Pub / Bar recommendations

My wife comes from a small village about 30km from Phichit town. We've visited the town a number of times, mostly for cheap eating for the family. Really nothing there for farangs - there may be some Thai-style karaoke joints but certainly nothing Western-style that I am aware of.

The one 'major attraction' is the crocodile park - live crocs and a big concrete one. Feeding the crocs is quite exciting but you might not want to do it more than once.

Take a good book with you.

Sorry, I know very little about P'lok except for the airport, the major store chains on the east side and a couple of the major temples.

There was a thread a while back about P'lok hotels.

Some of the Central Thailand regulars know more about P'lok and may respond.
