Professional Thai Massauses

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I hope that you can help me with my problem. We are building one of the biggest Spa Thalasso center in Europe (10 000 m2), Croatia on 40 hectare big 5* resort by the sea side.

And we are looking for 4-5 persons who are at top level at Thai massage (Thai nationals of course) , they should have certificate for Thai massage.

In one word they should be professionals.

So, what do you suggest where can I find them?

If somebody is interested, I will give more details by PM.

Regards..

I am directly involved in Southern Thai Herbal Pharmacist Association, which includes massaging as well.

Although I have no interest in massaging, the Association has a lot of certified Herbal Massager.

Depending on your location I might be of some help to you.

Thanks.

Depends on what you mean by "professional". There are many women in Thailand that work for massage centers that are really just disguised "professionals".

You could probably find some good ones with a hands on scouting trip. Go to some of the high end hotels in Bangkok and poach their masseuses.

Maybe Wat Po? I think they give a certificate if you complete the course, but I don't think there is a governmental certifying body in Thailand for Thai massage.

Professional means that they are good in massages and have some work experience and have some basic knowledge of English.

I would contact Wat Po in BKK. They have a good reputation but I don't know about actual practioners.

I am partial to The Old Medicine Hospital in Chiangmai. I did basic and advanced training there in 1995 and 1996, two months total. Good school with good teachers and practioners.

Also did another 12 weeks of teacher certification here in San Diego.

I teach a couple of different Thai massage classes here in San Diego.

Avoid ITM in Chaingmai bad school and very unethical practices going on there.

Hope this helps... :o

health land is a chain here well frequented by Thai's.

They have a very good team.

ThaiVisa has an excellent free advertising classified service.

You can advertise in the employment/offering section, that`s a good place to start.

Also in Mai Rim next to the government tax offices and courts, there is a job centre. You can also advertise in there for free. I`m sure there are more job centres like that elsewhere in the country.

Not sure what age group you are looking for, so it may be worth mentioning that in your ad.

i know that many 5 star spas operating in Dubai, Egypt etc have been poaching professional massauses from Thailand's luxury hotels like the Four Seasons, The Oriental, Hyatt etc. i say this from experience, my favourite massause was stolen from the Shambala spa at the Metropolitan Hotel and she now works in the Four Seasons in Cairo. you may want to head-hunt from these hotels if you want no-nonsense professional spa technicians.
