Investment Into Bonds - Good Idea?

Featured Replies

I’m looking to invest 5 million Baht and I’m currently looking at bonds, as I want as low risk as possible. What type of return should I expect from this, and does anybody have any good advice as to which bonds to invest in? I know I can’t expect to high return if the risk is low, but want as high as possible. I’m not necessarily looking at investing in Thai bonds, but would keep that as an option if there were something good out there.

Thanks for any advice given.

Remember that bonds aren't necessarily always low risk, and can be volatile. Especially in an environment where interest rate cuts are likely over for the time being. Unless you are prepared to hold the bonds until maturity, you can lose capital.

increasing interest rates = bond prices go down

decreasing interest rates = bond prices go up
