It seems fairly clear what needs to be included with the Form I-129F for the "evidence of having met in person".

Photos, plane tickets, train tickets, passport copy, etc.

I've got plenty of that sort of thing.

Is there some part of the overall process where you have to prove a more substantial relationship? That is, E-Mail records, SMS records, phone bill records, etc.? I'm not seeing this with the initial Form I-129F submission and so far have not found it in the process the fiance must go through at the US Embassy. [ Beyond of course the signed statement of intent to marry :o ]

Am I blending in something from another country's process (UK? Australia?)

Any experience on whether this is required or advisable to have?

Thanks,

Yes, for the I-129F, you should supply proof that it is a bona fide relationship. From instruction 5-B. "Original statements from you and your fiancé(e) whom you plan to marry within 90 days of his/her admission, and copies of any evidence you wish to submit to establish your mutual intent."

The "... any evidence you wish to submit to establish your mutual intent." part is the difficult part for most people. Fortunately, I had photos from our engagement ceremony. I think if you don't have photos from an engagement ceremony, a receipt for a ring, or proof of an upcoming wedding, then you will have to rely on your statements, phone bills and emails.
