Amazing news on the Grape Nuts front!

Grape Nuts sighted at FRIENDSHIP SUPERMARKET!

I am pretty sure they have never stocked this before.

I guess they want to get in on the Villa Grape Nuts action.

What's next? Carrefour? Tops? 7-11?

Actually it is the original breakfast cereal developed for sanatorium use and still one of the best tasting to me. Corn Flakes were invented for those unable to chew them. They used to be available in Foodland, but with frequent periods of not being stocked. If a corn flake type cereal eater you will be amazed at how much longer a package of these will last.

Thanks Lopburi, you are clearly a man of good taste.

The digestive properties of Grape Nuts are overstated. There are lots of other cereals with roughage.

To my view, the main attractions of the Nuts are:

Crunchiness

Mouth Feel (crunchiness)

Taste (if you like it you like it, if you don't you don't)

Not sweet (many of us do not like sugary cereals, especially ADULTS)

As Lopburi stated, a very little goes a long way

I never talked to a supermarket manager in my life. Maybe the Friendship stocker reads Thaivisa? Hello. Now that I have your attention, you should stock the LARGER SIZE box as well, as does Villa.

Grape seeds are supposed to be healthy. You chew and swallow them.

Now, if you were to peel them I would approve. Too many poisonous chemicals sprayed on them.

Grape Nuts have nothing to do with grapes (or nuts).

Or any FRUIT. Really.

For the sake of clarity, just imagine they are not Grape Nuts but rather Ape Huts.

Now there is an image.

An old friend is a dietician and helped with research for the film {who's name I can't recall} where Tony Hopkins played Kellogg. So worryingly I know that the first dry breakfast cereal was 'Granula' then Corn Flakes and then Grape Nuts.

I'm now going to bed to hide because I know this frightening trivia.

Regards

PS I cheated and looked it up, the movie was The Road to Wellville.

Their is only two cereals that I know of that is truly whole grain and that's Post Grape nuts and Shreaded wheat. All of the otherr cereals is the same as eating cookies and cakes. Lots of sugars and fats.

Barry

Porridge!

Villa has. In fact the Grape Nuts shelf space is now re-allocated. Where's the outcry?

Foodland still has the smaller boxes, however.

Yeah, also none at Friendship. They do have another Grape Nuts product (O's I think) of no interest whatsoever to GN purists.

Since you started the movement, and I've been able to find them, so are my bowel movements. A regular thing I mean. It's the only cereal I eat, but it's an American thing called added value. Do Captain Crunch Berries help with your regularity?

Eating Grape Nuts is like trying to eat a bowl of gravel. :)

LOL... just add some milk and let it sit for a couple minutes before eating. They will soften up and are easier to chew. If you do this, they tend to soak up quite a bit of milk, so you may need to top it off again.

I LOVE Grape Nuts. My father has eaten it for breakfast since as long as I can remember, and I guess I just developed a taste for it over the years. Very healthy, and delicious! As Jingthing said, it is not sweet at all, so if you are in the Frosted Flakes camp, it might not be for you.

To each his own! :D
