I am currently living in Chiang Mai, and am interested in going to Australia for some work a friend has offered me. I am 38 and hold a UK passport.

Is this possible and how would I go about doing it if it is?

You may be better off returning to the UK and apply for a 457 visa to Australia if you meet the criteria. Do you have a trade or professional qualification? It would depend on the work offered and you may require sponsorship by an Australian employer.

Steal a chicken and the authorities will take care of the transport arrangements. Be prepared for a long voyage.

You would need to apply for a working visa and the company must sponsor you....there is a criteria that the company has to meet for the sponsorship.
