percy2 Posted July 26, 2008 Posted July 26, 2008 Last night I watched Mean Creek. The fat kid is just horrible. Scott Mechlowicz is spookily similar in looks and voice to Hayden Christiansen (Whether that is good or bad.......) Excellent.

A_Traveller Posted August 7, 2008 Posted August 7, 2008 (edited) Recent :- Journey to the Centre of the Earth 3D, fun, and the effect was well used. Mummy 3: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor. Brendan seemed rather semi-detached in this one, though Jet Li & Michelle Yeoh were both excellent, oh and the Yeti were fun. The Dark Knight. Very rare for me to see a movie twice but really enjoyed it second time around, again at IMAX Regards Edited August 7, 2008 by A_Traveller

SweatySock Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Watched the Bucket List (Nicholson and Freeman), thoroughly enjoyed it, some sparkling dialogue.
toptuan Posted August 16, 2008 Posted August 16, 2008 Went to see Wall-E with my partner who wanted to see it. I went with low expectations thinking it was a kid's animated cartoon movie, and prepared to be mildly-bored. What a surprise! From the very beginning to end, the movie was highly entertaining: had a very original and well-developed plot, witty, in some places hilarious, characters you could identify with, and full of good teaching about the environment, relationships, etc. It's one of those movies you can take the kids and they'll enjoy, but the adults will especially enjoy the "higher level" humor and plot as well. I'd see it again.
jingjingna Posted August 17, 2008 Posted August 17, 2008 (edited) Blood Diamond: a great movie that me and my sons were crying throughout the three times we had watched it (until now) Agreed zaza! Blood Diamond was a great movie and so sad. 1) 'Once' - an Irish film on DVD - touching and poignant film with unusual story and FAB Irish music!!! 2) 'The Kite Runner' - set in Afghanistan and a real eye opener. REALLY recommend. A couple of parts will have you turning away as so very sad, however you can imagine how these things DO go on. Very interesting and informative, I'm not sure if it is autobiographical...? It made me go and buy the book in the bookstore too. Author is Khalid Hussein (sp?). I watched the Kite Runner twice ...excellent movie, quite sad but quite believable...have ordered the book too! Edited August 17, 2008 by jingjingna
