CSLoxinfo (part of the Shin Corp group who might be called something else now) offer the Vphone service. The cost of a call to the UK (fixed or land line) is 2 Baht a minute plus the cost of a local call in Thailand plus VAT. I currently use my mobile using 009 to phone the UK. It is 8 Baht per minute to a land line or a mobile and the quality is fine. I sometimes use Skype to call a land line and have numerous problems e.g. long delay, dropped calls, background noise. Skype is also 2 Baht per minute.

Has anybody used Vphone?

If so how would you rate the quality of the service?

Are there any alternatives particularly from DTAC? I could find nothing like it on their website.

I check the website www.csloxvphone.com and it's all in thai. I am not so sure how to use it.I think it's something similar to Internet Phone cards like PhoneNet, Lanso, etc. For international calls, I use Cat2Call (www.cat2call.com). It's cheap and reliable. But you need a computer and internet connection.
