Ok im finally ready to apply for a tourist visa for the TGF to come over and stay for a while see how things go. I posted ages ago about the situation we were in with her being seperated from her UK husband. I have decided to put this on the application and explain things in the notes section. I have phone bills, photos & all my travel docs from my 3 trips to her in the last 9 months. I have sponsor letter from me, my current salary letter from work showing i can supprt her, payslips and offer of accomadation letter for the duration of the stay from my parents. I also have health insurance quoted and pics of room we eill be stayin in to show adequate size and amenieties. What im not sure of is do i need to have flights booked how does that work. also do i need a transit visa for her if she flies through amsterdam for instance. I presume any flight throught the Uk should not need transit visa as she still has UK spouse visa on her passport. thanks in advance.

You should not book flights until you have a visa, just give an approximate flight date.

If it is purely transit and no stop over, a visa is not required.

Hi Dave

just checked one of your other posts, some info below that might help. I have always found the Visa boys quite helpful over the phone, so if you have any queries give them a call.

You asked previously if it was necessary to use an Agent, in your case probably not, as it looks pretty solid, although I have heard it can be difficult getting a visa nowadays, but I have never had a problem.

If you feel you need some professional help, Scouse would be the guy, although not specialist on Irish affairs :o he would see the job done I am sure, the one thing that worries me is the previous marriage visa, they might see this as a route to stay in the west after one failed effort. There are rumours that it is getting more difficult to/and implement tougher rules in the UK and the Irish may well be going the same way, although I have no evidence of this.

Have you taken on board what Scouse said about the Common Movement treaty, you could just get through the border without being checked but this is a high risk strategy and just not worth it, go through the proper channels, it is a much better philosophy.
