I've been looking for a sofa bed for around 6 months and tried SB, Index, in fact all the furniture shops at the Mall, Paragon etc. and they all seem to be the modern type where the back folds down in an upside down 'U' shape. What's more they look small, uncomfortable and seem to be made of vinyl. anybody seen the old style pull out variety? Not as comfortable as a normal bed, but better than what I've seen.

I saw some in Index MBK in the mattress dept.

I think they were made by Sealy, they looked pretty comfy to me.

Velvet/corduroy finish and seemed almost as thick as their mattresses.

I seem to remember they had quite a few types for sale.

After looking everywhere for a wide enough and comfortable sofa bed I finally bought one from Bangkok Futon, the Bangkok Classic model.

Made of quality teak wood and comfortable mattress.

Only 2 drawbacks: it is "only" 140 cm wide (queen size) and the mattress is quite heavy, making it a bit difficult to change from sofa to bed and vice versa (but it is comfortable).

Looks pretty, but 37,000 baht. Wow! That's one very expensive sofa bed.

Indeed, but I didn't find anything cheaper that I liked.

And I plan on keeping if for many years...
