Kom Faq Stick

There is a tv show on channel 7 on Monday and Tuesday nights.In the show the hero uses a stick called a kom faq and uses krabi krabong techniques to fight gangsters with it.Does anyone know what kind of wood stick is made from?

The kom faq is produced from a kind of hardwood found in the north.I do not know what it is called.The techniques used by the hero of this show are taken from krabi krabong,specically from a form which used to be prevalent about 50 years ago or so but has since been replaced by more sport and demostration oriented forms.
