Real Dumb Question About Fitting A Plate

Featured Replies

The licence plate for my new Nouvo just arrived in the post from the dealer, together with the green book.

... erm ..... how do I fit it?

I could just drill a couple of holes in the plate and screw it on, but I've noticed that many bikes have a neat cassette type plate-holder thingy that bolts to the rear mud-guard.

Where do you get these holders from? Or ... any idea where I can get some neat allen screws or fancy bolts to fit it? Don't want rusty old self tappers ruining the look of my rear end!

I could head back to the main Yamaha dealer and ask him, but Ekamai to Mo Chit will be at least three stops by the BiB @ 500 BHT a go. :o

Virtually any motorcycle shop plus Tesco Lotus, Carrfour, Big C etc. all sell these plate mounts.

Or you could drill a couple of holes and affix it with a couple of nuts and bolts. Whatever you do, do not use self-tappers. Unless you fancy the grief of trying to obtain a new plate

Been there, done that! ...and it's not funny. Took almost a year to get a replacement

Or you can drive to the Yamaha dealer on Rama 4, just after the Phra Khanong BTS station..did mine for 50 baht.
