Local Politician Escapes Bomb Attack

Roti saves neck of local politician

Hunger for a few pieces of roti saved the chairman of Pradu Ngam tambon administration organisation (TAO) from a bomb attack in Phetchabun's Muang district on Tuesday. Narin Klinpuang was driving his pick-up truck accompanied by two other local politicians after they had finished their studies at Pibulsongkhram Rajabhat University at around 2.30pm.

As the TAO chairman drove pass a roti stall at the university's exit gate, he couldn't resist a craving for the Indian-style snack. He pulled over and got out to buy some rotis. He told his friends to wait in the truck.

Seconds after he got out, Mr Narin heard a loud explosion from his pick-up. He immediately laid on the ground before rushing back to his pick-up where he found his friends badly wounded inside the damaged vehicle.

Scary stuff. Too close to home. Probably asking a lot, but let's hope for full investigation and perpetrators are apprehended.
