Thailand With A Baby In September/october

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

We are planning a trip to Thailand this september and early October with our 8 month old.

1. What is the weather like? (is it the rainy season this time of year? Are certain parts of Thailand better than others during this period?)

2. What beaches and luxury hotels/spas would you recommend? (e.g. on Koh Samui or otherwise?)

3. What other advice for travelling with a baby in Thailand? (WHAT TO BRING, hotels with babysitters or just babysitters, etc)

Thanks.

Hi,

How long will you stay on Samui?

1. The weather:

It is a tricky question. Last year we had floods in november and it wasnt nice at all.

From what I remember we had some rain in october too last year.

Can someone please help me out here with the weather-question? :o

2. What kind of spa are you looking for?

-A very good spa is the Ra Ra Spa in Chaweng. It is located at the Muang Samui resort.

-Kamalaya has a fantastic spa and they also have the hollistic spa for a more spiritual experience.

-Natural Wing, aslo good. Has acupuncture if you like that.

-Tamarind springs is also good.

Samui has a lot of firstclass hotels in different locations.

Check www.agoda.com or www.sawadee.com for reviews and oppinions.

3. Tips for travelling with small children:

-You will need a steralizer for the bottles.

They sell them at Tesco Lotus and they cost between 1000-2000 baht depending on model.

Depending on where you stay most hotels have baby cots. Otherwise you can buy them at Tesco or Big C.

Make sure they have mosquito-net.

A good cream for mosquito-bites for babies. They sell them at the pharmacy.

A really good baby-shop is located in a small departmentstore in Nathon. They have a lot of nice clothes and other more western things. A lot of things are imported so the prices are a little bit higher but well worth it. (my personal oppinion)

Has your baby started eating solid food?

They have cans with babyfood (heinz and nestle) at Tesco but they honestly dont look so good. Our daughter doesnt like them at all.

They have all kinds of formulas for babys. Some of them are made of soya for children that are sensitive too lactos. (cow-milk-products)

I think the best daipers are MamyPoko. We have tried others but we like the MamyPoko best. They are a lot like Pampers and Libero.

Well...that's it for now. Ask again if you have more questions.

Enjoy your stay.
