Rock Climbing

Featured Replies

I just moved to BKK. Know there is good rock in Chiang Mai and Krabi areas, but where is the closest stuff to BKK? Also, any good gyms around? Back in the States I hated going to gyms, but now I've gotta climb somehow! Help!

I feel your pain.

I lived down south for about 6 years, and could climb whenever I wanted (Phi Phi). Now I have been in Bangkok for about a year and my climbing career seems to be dwindling.

From what I understand, the only thing around here are indoor gyms (a online search will sort you out).

I have also heard about a Bangkok rock climbing club that does group trips around the country.

I hope you fill your climbing needs, because I sure haven't.

Cheers

You still looking for a place to climb? I'll be around mid November and know about the gym in the shopping centre. May also be able to do a trip outside, Krabi perhaps. Let me know thanks

'The Racquet Club' on sukhumvit 49/9 has a large well designed climbing wall, it also has a gym.

Gym membership grants access to swimming pool, climbing wall and (surprise) racquetball and tennis.

Pick up a copy of Climbing in Thailand(2007) by Wee Changrua. It has some places around central Thailand.

Cheers!

Hi,

I just arrived in Bangkok for work.

I was a regular rock climber (indoor and outdoor) in Boston, MA.

Have you had any luck finding other climbers in Bangkok to climb in the city during the week and outside on week ends?
