Phuket Expats - Where Is Your Favourite Farang Hangout?

Featured Replies

Where is your favourite farang hangout in Phuket, be it a sandwich shop, cafe, bar, restaurant, recreation centre?

Once a month I love going to the Starbucks at Jungceylon in Patong to just hang out, read the paper, and chat with a few other farangs. :o

  • 2 months later...

During the day: Elephant Bar near Kata or karon or somewhere there with big smelly elephants, its really nice and relaxing, sometimes the elephant trainers will crack out a guitar and have a sing along...

Evening: Baan Yin Dee up the top of patong beach, forgot what that areas called, but its really nice, my friend said its gone bad since new ownership, but my memories are great of that place, bring a big fat wallet too!

For coffee: although overpriced they seem to be the only people to make a real farang coffee, outside the entrance to paradise complex at Patong, on rat-u-thit road..

Also for good food theres a restaurant on the ground floor, outside the fresh (or not so) fresh food markets at patong, its classy, and the prices arent to bad compared to a lesser quality elsewhere in Patong for the same price, the service has always been great and the cook has always done a perfect job...Last year I got seafood at the markets there for a bargain, it was great, this year I was nearly spewing at the markets the stench was absolutely rotten and the prices where higher than last year....so be weary of buying seafood at the markets there...

Anyways those are my choice places..
