HI! My father in law (american) and my "step" mother in law (Thai) have started an orphanage in Thailand. They are frequently receiving unwanted children and babies. My husband and I are interested in adopting a baby from the orphanage but are wondering if we can bypass some of the red tape. We match all of the criteria but are hoping to spend less money. I know we would have to get a home study, etc. but can we bypass using an adoption agency? I would appreciate any information you can tell us!

This is something we'd really like to do and is important to us, so I'm almost begging for information here-- I keep getting the run around from everyone I call and all the websites I go to. My father/mother-in-law can only do so much in Thailand.

Please take the time to tell me anything that might help.

You cannot adopt a Thai from any other source than the Thai Government adoption agency. Your Father does not run a Government one and therefore he cannot put children up for adoption. There is no quick easy method to adopt in Thailand. I've tried it and failed. We eventually went down the IVF road. It worked and is quicker and cheaper. Good luck
