Does anyone knows where to buy some proper pita bread in Bangkok??

I been looking in different stores and not be able to find it so far.

Wherever i've seen it the price was far to high (45 bath for a single piece at Paragon).

Does anyone have any suggestion on where to buy it?

Foodland Sukhumvit Soi 5 has it.

It is so simple to make why would you need to buy it ?

Also if you make them, you can freeze them and only cook when you want one.. take all of 1 max 2 minutes in a very hot oven, even the cheap 350 baht electric ovens cook them nicely [small so only 1 at a time]

Plain Flour, teaspoon baking powder, table spoon Olive oil mixed in milk......... add milk to flour mix with hand to a dough.... need well.. cover and leave for 1 hour........... pull off a piece of dough roll out to Pitta shape.... add anything you want on top.... prick all over with fork, pop in oven for 1 - 2 mins... take out brush to with olive oil... your done enjoy..

Rest of dough roll out into pitta size, place on cling film/ grease proof and freeze.......... DO NOT cook then, freeze dough as taste so much better freshly baked

Villa used to offer Pita Bread made by "the Cedar" Lebanese Restaurant which is pretty good, not cheap though but I think its cheaper than at Paragon

The recipe given here is incorrect propper Pita is made with a yeast dough and made with hard flour and water not milk which would make them too soft. It is pretty simple though but for best results you'll need a very hot oven and a pizza stone - one does not put anything on top of pita bread - I think who gave the recipe was thinking of an Italian bread - when baking the Pita it will inflate like a balloon and collapse when cooling - this generates the 2 layer nature of the bread which one can fill later with nice things, like Lamb....

If you decide to make your own, make sure to let them cool wrapped in a slightly moist cloth to avoid the bread to crisp up - Pita is not suppose to be crisp and if you freeze it or want to re-heat it in the Microwave or oven, heat it carefully and spray a little water onto the bread befor placing it into the ove or micro
