Abrief history. My wife and I have been married for five and a half years and have a four year old daughter between us. Wife also has another nine year old daughter ( Thai ) from a previous relationship in which the father left her during the pregnancy.

Prior to the birth of our daughter we obviously discussed and were a little concerned about how our eldest daughter would relate to her new sister. Those concerns turned out to be pointless as from day one our eldest daughter has been totally loving and supportive of her little sister.

Big sister spends a lot of time playing with and even helping her with school work etc. They insist on showering together and even sleep together through choice. If the youngest daughter hurts herself then her sister is always there soothing her. A typical example would be an incident a few days ago when they were rolling around the floor playing, the four year old being a little too rough with arms and legs flying accidently knocked one of her sisters front teeth out :o !! Obviously big sis is crying with tooth gone and mouth bleeding which of course sets the youngest off in tears too. What happened next was heart warming indeed. Big sis is crying, sees little sis crying so, minus tooth and bleeding goes and hugs her little sister and tries to soothe her :D

Just wondering about relationships such as this in other similar families?
