To Keep Or Not To Keep?

My current USA health policy sucks...I am a 30 year old healthy male, yet I pay $150 per month for 60% coverage...These guys also refuse to mail a health insurance card to any other address other than my USA home address, so I don't even have an insurance card on me!! YIKES

I am currently traveling all over Thailand and its neighboring countries, but will still need cover when I go back to the USA...I will be traveling for a long time and I don't know when I am going back...should I dump my old policy?? (I have heard that it is a nightmare to get coverage in the USA if you don't have a current USA policy in force)

Are there any in-patient comprehensive global expat policies that don't care which country you happen to be in or how long you have been there, and directly pay the hospital without me having to get reimbursement prior? It would be best if they cover evacuation to the nearest international-grade hospital, so even if I am smack dab in the middle of Laos, I would be flown to Bangkok.

And being as I am now on Samui island, how and where would I apply and be sent my insurance cards?
