Any Chinese Tutors/language Schools In Phuket?

Featured Replies

As part of a plan to upgrade my professional qualifications and skills in IT and Project Management, I want to improve my language skills so that I can pitch for jobs outside of Thailand. In my skill area, there are quite a number of attractive jobs in China. So I would like to learn Mandarin Chinese to an intermediate level to improve my chances of employment. (Many of these jobs ask for basic knowledge of Mandarin).

I did learn to read/write/speak very basic Mandarin some 6 years ago, and actually found it easier to learn than Thai.

The language schools that I have contacted in Phuket offer several language courses, but Chinese is not one of them :o

Can anyone suggest a language school or private tutor who can assist me to learn to speak, read and write Mandarin?

Thanks

Simon

In Phuket town, across the street from the Thavorn Hotel, I once saw a language school that advertised in the window, Chinese.

I haven't been by there in awhile, but have been meaning to go by as I too, am interested.

Simon, I'll repost once I get by there. Let us know if you find anything.

Sounds good. If I'm in Phuket town I'll go and check it out!

You could always go to Thai Hua school and see about private lessons. I know one of my daughters friends is taking Mandarin classes, so there are definitely some around.

I work at a Thai/Chinese school.

There are 7 native Chinese there.

They also work 'overtime' at the Phuket Thai Hua museum where they do Mandarin lessons. It's in the old quarter in Phuket town, on Krabbi road i think.

I doubt it will be expensive. All of this stuff will be late afternoon/early evenings though.

PM me if you need more info

My name is James Nanakornpanom, My company is sending me Phuket for about 6 months, and then I am off to work in Beijing. I need a tutor in Mandarin or a class or private lessons. Can you please send me a list of prices and times in the afternoon that you could do lessons for Mandarin. I have already had 3 months of lessons but that was 5 months ago so need to refresh the basics and tones and then move on from there. Look forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,
