Am i allowed to work with o-visa?

Featured Replies

Someone told me (in a pub), that you were allowed to work part-time with a student visa. He also said that you might not need a work permit for that either.

I'm studying now, and was thinking of working part-time aswell..

This sounded a little strange. Could someone please help tell me if this is true? Or if I have to change my visa to a B-Visa and get a work-permit?

Thanx...

No, you can NOT work without a work permit. The regulations say that you shall have the correct visa type, Non-Immigrant "B". We have several reports that some persons successfully got work permits with a Non-Immigrant "O" visa.

Thanks George!

Seems that the best option would be the B-Visa then.

Or do you think that I should try to apply for a work-permit with a the o-visa?
