The Discriminatory Policies Of Chivas Thailand

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Me and some friends were hoping to go to the Chivas Music Terminal party in Bangkok on Friday which is a warm-up to the ZoukOut party in Singapore next month, which I'll be going to. It sounded good so I put my online registration though a month or so ago, along with some other friends who wanted to join. None of us got any email or text confirmation through, which we thought was a bit strange.

I've since heard - through a friend of a friend who is working with the event - that foreigners are not allowed to go to the event, although it should be fine if they're accompanied by a Thai, which is ridiculous given that many of ZoukOut's party-goers and potential Chivas drinkers are foreigners, so you'd think they'd want to market and aim their event at all people.

Sure enough, yesterday, 2 days before the event and one month after registering, I got a text with an annoyingly worded message along the lines of 'The seats on the flight at the Chivas Music Terminal are fully booked'.

I can't believe that Chivas would want to alienate its customers so perhaps its the responsibility of the Thai events company that are putting helping to put this night together. Either way, it's bullshit and I won't be drinking their whiskey again (not that I ever did anyway!).

Cheers, Jack
