Hi all,

I have a small project that requires a cameraman for a couple of months... maybe a little longer depending on how it plans out.

Ideally I'm looking for someone that has experience in both filming and editing, so a fresh uni grad might fit the deal as I need to keep costs low.

If you were in my shoes, where would you start looking? Are there any publications/web sites? Clubs? Is it worth contacting a few universities?

Thanks in advance!

There are some good programs on the market. I use Cake walk for just a fun hobby but I do some recording as well but its grate for Video editing, also there are a lot of user friendly programs out there.. If you have the apatite to learn some funky things why not play around with it for a while and if you know what you want in your project then im sure you will do a good job.. Just me anyways.

second best option would to see if any uni students would be whiling to help out for a bit of cash. im not sure what university teaches media course but perhaps there are privet collage as well.

Google is your friend :o

You might try some of the local Photo shops in your area for a Reference. I know a few in my area that does outside(after shop hours) work, first class, very professional work. :D:o

Thanks everyone for responding and leaving some great ideas!

So far I've posted a bit about my project on some film/creative forums and on my blog. jobsdb.com is a great idea, I've used them before and was over whelmed with the responses (although this was for a different role). I'm also going to get a friend to write on pantip.com and sanook.com to see if I can find anyone interested there.

@meithai - I'm sending you a PM now :o

I am just finishing my degree at SAE (multimedia college/university in BKK).

I am unable to help however there is a vast number of students there with equipment and experience willing to work.

I have a contact there, the head of the film department... PM me if you want more info.

Dear Seobangkok

I am a Malaysian director who does film making and editing as I specialise in making short and feature films. Now I am planning to work in Phuket for couple of months or maybe longer. I have seen your request looking for someone to edit and video shoot, I think I like to apply for this job. I am coming to phuket this sunday, maybe we can meet to discuss more. At the mean time, you may email me more details of your job description and location here: [email protected]

Looking forward to hearing from you. I also attached my resume and sample short film trailer that I did recently for your consideration and perusal.

Sincerely

Rorne Tan
