Where Are The Seamstresses?

Featured Replies

I have some shirts I want copied so rather than get ripped off by a tailor I thought I would cut out the middle man and go straight to a seamstress. Where can I find them in Bangkok, preferably in the Sukhumvit area?

Dont know about Sukhumvit but you can try the bowels of Pratunam market.

Inside that maze is a row of seamstresses

I had some work done by a seamstress, enquire at a laundry in your area. Take someone who speaks Thai if you don't.

I see lots of those seamstresses around with their single black sewing machine which I think is just used for repairing clothes. I doubt they could make a shirt. I'm thinking more of the shops that the tailors use when they want a shirt made. They're more like a mini factory than a one woman and her sewing machine operation. I've seen them in Pattaya but never Bangkok.

Go have a look inside Pratunam market, they seem to do a thriving business sewing up dresses.

My sister in law has a shop in Pimai....if your interested and can work by post perhaps she'd be interested. PM me if you'd like me to look in to it.

Eric

P.S. I'm sure her prices would be much cheaper than Bangkok.
